The university Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (UTDT) invites graduates to register for the Course Sustainable Construction and Design, LEED certification.
The Contemporary Architecture Studies Center at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (UTDT) invites all graduates to register for the course, which will be run by Argentina Green Building Council from August 9th to November 15th. The main objective of the course is to introduce methods and practices that turn projects, regardless of their size, economically, socially and environmentally sustainable.
Basic concepts will be lectured through the analysis of real cases in Latin America and abroad. Then, tools and management systems to plan, implement and monitor the practices to be applied will be provided. Moreover, current certification systems related to buildings and their operation, such as LEED, BREEAM, ISO 14001, Green Star, Energy Star, CHPS, Green Globes will be analyzed. Finally, legal issues regarding the current situation will also be lectured.
It will be a theory and practice course in which group and individual cases will be analyzed. Visual support will be used to promote audience participation. Besides, in order to meet the practical objective of the course, practical strategies regarding "know how" in the construction area will be developed.
Argentina Green Building Council (AGBC) is a non-government, non-profit organization founded in Buenos Aires. The objective of this organization is to facilitate and promote the design and construction of green buildings, to raise awareness regarding climate change and environmental issues. It also supports professionals and those responsible for drafting design standards by providing assistance and serving as a guide for the development of eco-practices for both existing buildings and new urban projects.
UTDT will issue certificates to those passing the exam and meeting at least 75% attendance. The course price is $ 900; AGBC’s members and employees will benefit with a 15% discount. Then, half-price scholarships will be awarded to those interested living in the provinces.
